  Students may take 3 free computer classes within a fiscal year, which runs from July 1st through June 30th.  Additional courses are available at $45.00 per course.  While all of the classes offered are not available each session, you may simply call us between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Thursday at 260-5075, and we will schedule you for the next available class.

Computer Classes

Introduction to Computers

This class begins with turning the computer on, learning to use the mouse, altering the appearance of  Windows, locating, opening, organizing, and saving files, utilizing toolbars, dialog boxes, and desktop technology.  It then expands to include making shortcuts, arranging and organizing the desktop, using Windows Explorer, creating files and folders, formatting floppies, clicking and dragging, altering hardware settings, fonts, searching, and saving files.

Internet
  
Learn to browse web sites, use search engines, download files, send e-mail and attachments, protect yourself from virus files, participate in the Usenet and explore Internet messaging.

Microsoft Word (Parts 1 & 2)
 
This is a basic word processing class dealing with creating documents, making menu selections, opening and closing files, cutting, copying and pasting.

Introduction To The Adobe® Photoshop Elements
 

An easy-to-use, yet powerful image-editing, photo-retouching, and Web-graphics solution.  Adobe Photoshop Elements software offers robust features designed specifically for amateur photographers, hobbyists, and business users who want to create professional quality images for print and the Web

Microsoft Excel (Part 1)
 
This is a spreadsheet program.  The class includes creating formulas, setting up spreadsheets, etc.

Microsoft Excel (Part 2)
 
The advanced class is for power users and requires that you complete the basic class or its equivalent.  It deals with using graphs, charts, and pivot tables in presenting your information in an effective manner.

Microsoft Front Page
 
Build your website exactly the way you want it, and manage it with confidence.  Give it a professional and consistent look across all pages using the latest in Web technology.

Microsoft Access
 
The most powerful relational database program available.  Learn to plan and create your database.  Use tables, forms, queries and reports to manage your data.  Participate in a class project of practical application.

Microsoft PowerPoint
  
 This exciting program allows you to create graphic visual presentations using pictures, sound, video clips, clip art, and other forms of multi-media.
